Dear Colleagues and Friends,
As we begin 2024, we pause to reflect on a momentous year for EASO. Our collaborations with partners across sectors have significantly advanced education, public health, and clinical management of obesity. We’re grateful for these partnerships and the achievements we’ve made together.
Looking ahead to 2024, our focus is on further strengthening these collaborations, especially with our national association members, sister societies across obesity and NCD associations, and other key stakeholders — most importantly, our partners across the European patient community — to deliver support for people living with obesity and to communities most affected by the drivers of obesity.
Stay tuned for updates on key upcoming events, including World Obesity Day, EASO Obesity Masterclasses, our COMs Mentoring and Exchange Network, the 2024 COMs Summit and other educational opportunities, including training and grants, networking and skill-building, and advanced competitive awards for our Early Career Network.
The European Congress on Obesity (ECO) will be the highlight of 2024. I look forward to greeting you at the 31st ECO in Venice where we will welcome Professor Volkan Yumak as our next president.
So to everyone in the obesity community, thanks for making 2023 a brilliant year. Wishing you a great 2024. #BetterTogether #Family
Warm regards,
Jason Halford
President, EASO
