The EASO ECN Board is expanding and seeks early-career professionals actively involved in obesity, including researchers and healthcare practitioners, to apply for board membership.

Board members will collaborate with a diverse team, contribute to key ECN initiatives, and engage in activities that enhance networking and knowledge sharing across obesity-related disciplines.

Eligible members of the EASO ECN from all backgrounds who are willing to demonstrate enthusiasm and commitment to annual ECN activities are invited to apply. To increase ECN Board representation in this area, colleagues working in basic science and/or residing in the EASO Middle Region are particularly encouraged to apply.

Key Details:

  • Expectations: Participate in regular ECN Board meetings, contribute to and promote annual ECN events and activities, and support ongoing projects. Time commitments are approximately 3-5 hours per month
  • Term Length: 2 years, with a possibility of renewal for up to 6 years

 Terms of Reference

  • To meet a minimum of 4 times per year (i.e. quarterly), with at least one physical meeting per year
  • To review the annual ECN Best Thesis Award applications
  • To contribute to the development of the ECN Winter School programme and the annual ECN eLearning Hub programme by identifying topics of interest and related speakers
  • To aim to take part in hosting the eLearning Hub online events annually, ensuring at least 3 Board members take up these responsibilities each event
  • To take an active role in supporting at least one major ECN event, such as the annual ECO or ECN Winter School
  • To assume at least one remote organisational or communication responsibility per year (e.g. grant application writing, social media moderation) to support and promote ECN development
  • To promote the ECN and increase engagement through various channels including meetings, conferences, social media, and other professional environments
