Euan Woodward has worked with EASO since 2005 and has been its Executive Director since 2007. He manages the EASO Secretariat and is responsible for the development and implementation of EASO’s strategic action plans, coordinating and supporting the activities of the Association’s General Council, Executive Committee, Task Forces and Working Groups.
He manages EASO’s annual congress (the European Congress on Obesity), its network of Collaborating Centres for Obesity Management (COMs) and its research projects. He holds a BA (hons) in European Business and a Masters in Business Tourism.
Established in 1986, EASO is a federation of professional membership associations from 36 European countries. It is the voice of European obesity professionals, representing a community of over 20,000 scientists, health care practitioners, physicians, public health experts, early career researchers, students and patients. EASO is in official relations with the World Health Organisation (WHO) Regional Office for Europe, and coordinates the Scientific Secretariat of the MEP Interest Group on Obesity and Resilient Health Systems in the European Parliament. EASO also coordinates the EU Obesity Policy Engagement Network (OPEN) and is a member of the EU Health Coalition and the Biomedical Alliance in Europe.
