EASO ECN Development Fund Travel Grant

Grants are awarded by application and support participation in EASO National Association meetings, National Teaching Courses, research related events and training courses hosted by obesity organisations or sister societies in obesity related areas (e.g., cancer, diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, endocrinology).

Purpose of the EASO ECN Development Fund Travel Grant

  • Conference participation: Grants support ECN members to present obesity-related research at international scientific and clinical meetings and conferences
  • Professional development: Grants can be used for attending specialised training courses to enhance clinical and research skills relevant to obesity
  • EASO COMs participation: Grants can be used to support ECN members who are part of EASO COMs to attend the annual EASO COMs Summit
  • ECN members seeking financial support to specifically attend the European Congress on Obesity (ECO) should apply for the separate EASO Travel Grants

To be eligible to apply for the EASO ECN Development Fund Travel Grant, you must:

Application details

  • Applications will be reviewed by the EASO ECN Board three times per year
  • If presenting research, applicants must provide a relevant research abstract to support their grant application. Research must focus on obesity-related themes and use person-first language
  • Grants cover up to €1000 towards accommodation, flights, and other related expenses

The EASO ECN Development Fund and related travel grants are funded by Novo Nordisk Foundation.

EASO ECN Development Fund Travel Grant applications are now open below.

Applications will be assessed up to three times per year – February, June and October. Individual travel grants will be awarded after the event, upon submission of receipts for eligible expenses. 

The Novo Nordisk Foundation has provided support to the European Association for the Study of Obesity (EASO) for Early Career Network development activities. The Novo Nordisk Foundation has had no influence over award selection or meeting agendas.
