We are pleased to share that Thao Lam, a PhD student at the Department of Epidemiology and Data Science, Amsterdam UMC, is our 2023 Winter School winner of the best poster prize.
Thao developed a comprehensive index that quantified the obesogenic environment in the Netherlands. This index consists of 17 variables from the food and physical activity environments (including fast food and walkability among others). To visualize the index, she produced a heatmap showing distinct differences in obesogenicity across neighborhoods in the country. In the future, the OBCT-index could be used in epidemiological research and possibly inform policy makers.
