TIMESPAN latest updates

TIMESPAN investigates how ADHD affects cardiometabolic health across the lifespan, combining genetics, pharmacoepidemiology, and clinical research. This year, the consortium published high-profile work, including a Lancet Psychiatry systematic review on the cardiovascular safety of ADHD medications (Farhat et al. 2025) and a registry study linking ADHD with higher mortality after myocardial infarction (Yao et al. 2025).

Equally important, TIMESPAN hosted a major public engagement event in April, bringing together people with lived experience of ADHD and co-occurring conditions, researchers, and stakeholders. Highlights included a context lecture on obesity by Professor Catharina Hartman, a powerful personal account from Alison Lake (ECPO), and a panel on the Interplay between ADHD and Obesity with leading experts, including former EASO President Professor Jason Halford from the University of Leeds (UK).

With further high-profile studies underway, TIMESPAN is advancing knowledge on ADHD and long-term health to support better outcomes across Europe.
