Introducing Sabine Pawellek, PhD researcher and Research Associate from Germany, as a new member of the EASO Early Career Network (ECN) Board

Sabine completed her Bachelor’s in Health Sciences at the Technical University of Munich and holds two Master’s degrees from Leipzig University in Sport Sciences and Pedagogical Psychology (focus on competence development). At the obesity therapy center KLAKS e.V., she holds the role as a physical activity and behavioral therapist, collaborating directly with patients to translate scientific findings into practical interventions. Her current work focuses on childhood obesity therapy with emphasis on digital media and body image, as well as the competencies of obesity therapists, including their professional development.

Furthermore, Sabine is an active member of the German Association for Sport Science (dvs) and the German Obesity Society (DAG), contributing through workshops or event organization. As an ECN board member, she is committed to advancing the organization’s mission by promoting multidisciplinary collaboration, bridging research and practice, and supporting public education on obesity, particularly for children and adolescents. Above all, she is eager to connect with fellow professionals dedicated to improving obesity care.
