Introducing Dr Laura Kudlek, Postdoctoral Researcher from Germany, as a new member of the EASO ECN Board
Dr. Laura Kudlek is a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Public Health, Social and Preventive Medicine at the University of Heidelberg, Germany. Her research focuses on developing scalable, cost-effective interventions that can be integrated into routine healthcare to improve obesity treatment and support the tertiary prevention of weight-related disorders. She has a particular interest in precision medicine approaches that tailor interventions to individual characteristics, with a focus on psycho-behavioural traits as personalisation targets.
Laura earned her PhD in Medical Sciences from the University of Cambridge (2025), where she investigated how eating behaviour traits influence the effectiveness of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy-based weight management interventions. She also holds an MSc in Health Psychology from University College London and a BSc in Psychology from Maastricht University.
Her current work examines obesity care provision in Germany, with particular attention to the integrated management of body weight and mental health. Beyond her research, Laura is committed to bridging the gap between scientific evidence and clinical practice and promote patient and public engagement and involvement. As a member of the ECN Board, she looks forward to fostering connections among early career researchers across Europe, promoting interdisciplinary collaboration, and supporting the professional development of the next generation of obesity researchers.
