The EASO Early Career Network (ECN) and the EASD Early Career Academy (ECA) invite delegates to a joint webinar on the value of collaboration across obesity and diabetes communities.

Professor Kirsi Pietiläinen (Finland), Professor of Clinical Metabolism and 2025 recipient of the EASO-Novo Nordisk Foundation Obesity Prize for Excellence, will deliver the keynote lecture. Professor Pietiläinen will reflect on how advances in metabolic research can inform care for people living with obesity and diabetes, and how collaboration across disciplines and disease areas has shaped her career.
The session will:
- Explore how metabolic insights can be translated into improved care for people living with obesity and diabetes
- Highlight the value of collaboration between obesity and diabetes research and clinical communities
- Inspire early-career clinicians, scientists, and public health professionals to engage in cross-disciplinary and cross-community collaboration
