The Danish Association for the Study of Obesity (DASO), an EASO national association member, brought together researchers, clinicians and healthcare professionals for its Annual Obesity Meeting, held on 6–7 November 2026 in Nyborg, Denmark. The scientific programme explored key developments in obesity research, including cardiometabolic complications, adipose tissue biology, women’s reproductive health, gut hormones and the wider effects of incretin based therapies..
A preceding educational day, focused on Precision Obesity Management – From Obesity Phenotypes to Personalised Care, highlighted the importance of understanding the biological and clinical diversity of obesity in supporting more personalised, evidence-based care.
The meeting also celebrated excellence in Danish obesity research, recognising Professor Signe Sørensen Torekov and Assistant Professor Lærke Smidt Gasbjerg through the DASO–Novo Nordisk Foundation research awards. EASO congratulates the award recipients and our Danish colleagues on the excellent scientific programme and continuing DASO contributions to advancing obesity science and improving care for people living with obesity.
