The EASO COMs Network is pleased to announce registration is open for our upcoming collaborative webinar, hosted jointly by EASO and Korean Society for the Study of Obesity (KSSO), titled “Beyond One-Size-Fits-All: Ethnicity, Diagnosis, and Treatment Response in Obesity Care” on Tuesday, 28 April 2026 (12:30-13:30 Paris / 19:30-20:30 Seoul).
This webinar will explore how ethnicity and population-specific factors influence the clinical presentation, diagnosis, and management of obesity. Expert speakers will examine differences in diagnostic thresholds, body composition, and metabolic risk across racial and ethnic groups, and discuss how these variations may affect treatment response. The session will highlight why moving beyond one-size-fits-all approaches is essential for delivering equitable, evidence-based obesity care across diverse populations.
Delegates will learn about:
- Variations in clinical features and diagnostic criteria of obesity across racial and ethnic groups
- The implications of ethnicity-specific differences in body composition and metabolic risk for clinical assessment
- How responses to lifestyle, pharmacological and surgical interventions may differ across populations
- Psychological, biological and mental health considerations of appetite and affect and how these may influence variability in treatment response
- Considerations for delivering more personalised and equitable obesity care in diverse and multicultural settings
