Barriers and Future Directions in the Weight Bias Field: The International Weight Bias Summit 2024

We are pleased to share recent publications from The International Weight Bias Summit 2024.

The Summit brought together leading researchers, clinicians, advocates, and people with lived experiences to advance global efforts to reduce weight stigma and discrimination. Held at Concordia University in Montréal in partnership with the School of Health, the Faculty of Arts and Science and several non-profit organisations, this two-day event focused on identifying priority research directions, strengthening international collaboration, and integrating lived experience into every stage of research. These open-access reports highlight Summit outcomes, emerging research themes, and next steps toward building a long-term International Weight Bias Research Network dedicated to social change.
