The European Association for the Study of Obesity (EASO) is pleased to announce that EASO President Professor Volkan Demirhan Yumuk will deliver the Plenary Lecture at the Society for Korean Obesity and Metabolism Studies International Congress (SICOM 2026), which will take place 26–28 November 2026 in Seoul, Republic of Korea.
Prof. Yumuk’s lecture, “Consensus or Conflict? Comparing EASO, The Lancet, and AACE Obesity Guidelines,” will explore evolving international approaches to obesity care and the importance of evidence-based, person-centred clinical guidance.
The SICOM 2026 theme “Deep Dive into the Next Tide of Obesity Science,”will bring together leading international experts to discuss advances in obesity science, cardiometabolic health, precision medicine, nutrition, healthy ageing and emerging obesity management therapies.
EASO looks forward to contributing to this important international scientific exchange and to strengthening collaboration with colleagues across Korea, the Asia-Pacific region and the wider global obesity community.
