EASO National Association member the Slovak Obesity Association (SOA), an, will host its 8th Congress and 24th Slovak Congress on Obesity on 23–24 October 2026 in Trnava, Slovakia, bringing together national and international experts to share developments in obesity research, diagnosis and management.
The two-day scientific programme will explore advances in person-centred obesity care, with particular emphasis on multidisciplinary approaches, updated clinical standards and the integration of evidence-based interventions into clinical practice.

- Updated clinical standards for obesity diagnosis and management, including medical nutrition therapy, physical activity and pharmacotherapy.
- Moving beyond BMI towards more personalised approaches to obesity care.
- Advances in obesity management medications, metabolic and bariatric surgery, and endoscopic interventions.
- Childhood and adolescent obesity, including practical approaches to diagnosis and care.
- Obesity-related complications, including cardiovascular disease, obstructive sleep apnoea and cancer.
- Multidisciplinary care, behavioural interventions and the importance of long-term health outcomes.
The programme also features contributions from the EASO Early Career Network (ECN) Slovakia, highlighting research and clinical innovation, including digital health, behavioural support, body composition and quality of life.
This international congress provides an important opportunity for collaboration, knowledge exchange and strengthening evidence-based obesity management across Slovakia and the wider European community.
