ECO ONLINE 2021
28TH EUROPEAN CONGRESS ON OBESITY
#ECO2021 is more than a scientific congress. It is a learning platform for disseminating the best obesity research and practice in Europe, and a platform for discussion, collaboration and sharing. We have developed a programme structure that will enable delegates to interact as much as possible with presenters, so we will have plenary discussion sessions, teaching workshops, case study discussions and moderated e-poster sessions. Programme topics will be organised into four main areas:
Day 1: Basic Science
Day 2: Childhood and Adolescent Obesity
Day 3: Behavioural and Public Health
Day 4: Management and Intervention
We will also host a meet-and-greet terrace, where you can learn from and speak with members of the patient community in a discussion lounge with the European Coalition for People Living with Obesity.
In the New Investigators lounge, you will be able to meet early career researchers from around the world, and chat with senior leaders in your field of interest. Submit your abstracts by 31 January.
#ECO2021 will be online, but we will make it as interactive and rewarding as ever!

The multidisciplinary online journal for obesity research and therapy
Obesity Facts, publishes articles covering all aspects of obesity: epidemiology, etiology and pathogenesis, treatment, and pre- vention of adiposity. As obesity is related to many disease processes, the journal also covers all topics pertaining to comorbidity and covers psychological and sociocultural aspects of obesity as well as the influences of nutrition and exercise on body weight. The editors carefully select papers to present only the most recent findings in clinical practice and research.
EASO acts as a dissemination and communications
partner in a number of important EU funded Horizon 2020
research projects, often as WP leader.
The PROTEIN Project is a research initiative led by a consortium of European public- and private-sector organizations working to promote health and wellbeing. By bringing together experts from across Europe, PROTEIN will develop tools using the latest communications technologies and machine learning strategies to provide personalized nutrition and physical activity support to EU citizens.
SWEET, a European Commission Horizon 2020 funded project, is supported by a consortium of 29 pan-European research, consumer and industry partners, who are reviewing and developing evidence on long term benefits and potential risks involved in switching over to sweeteners and sweetness enhancers (S&SEs) in the context of public health and safety, obesity, and sustainability.
