IES Webinar: Obesity Stigma at Work: Improving Inclusion and Productivity

In conjunction with the Institute of Employment studies, we are pleased to invite you to an online event with report authors Zofia & Stephen Bevan alongside Professor Dame Carol Black, Chair of NHS Improvement’s Advisory Board on Employee Health and Wellbeing and Adviser to NHSI and PHE on Health and Work.

Tuesday 15th December 10:00 – 11:00am

Research has found that weight-based discrimination is rife in the workplace and occurs at every stage of the employment cycle. Obesity stigma at work often results in hidden wage penalties, fewer opportunities for promotion, reduced workplace wellbeing, increased stress and a higher likelihood of being dismissed.

Join our webinar where we will discuss the first findings from the PURPOSE programme, focussing on improving national productivity levels via better employment and labour market outcomes for those living with overweight or obesity.
