Malgr\u00e9 cette large reconnaissance de l'ob\u00e9sit\u00e9 comme maladie chronique, les recommandations cliniques qui guident le diagnostic de l'ob\u00e9sit\u00e9 et sa prise en charge ne sont pas encore suffisamment align\u00e9es sur les processus cliniques normalement adopt\u00e9s pour d'autres maladies chroniques. Dans de nombreux contextes, le diagnostic de l'ob\u00e9sit\u00e9 reste simplement bas\u00e9 sur les seuils de l'indice de masse corporelle (IMC), sans tenir compte du r\u00f4le de la r\u00e9partition des tissus adipeux.
\net fonctionnent en fonction de la gravit\u00e9 de la maladie. De plus, un diagnostic bas\u00e9 uniquement sur des mesures anthropom\u00e9triques ne tient pas compte de l'impact qu'une accumulation anormale et\/ou excessive de graisse corporelle peut avoir sur la sant\u00e9 m\u00e9dicale, fonctionnelle et psychologique. Le stade d'\u00e9volution de la maladie n'est souvent pas pris en compte dans l'\u00e9valuation clinique.<\/p>\n

Les indications relatives \u00e0 l'utilisation des approches th\u00e9rapeutiques actuellement disponibles pour la prise en charge de l'ob\u00e9sit\u00e9 restent \u00e9galement principalement ax\u00e9es sur les mesures anthropom\u00e9triques, et non sur une \u00e9valuation clinique plus compl\u00e8te du patient. Les lignes directrices sur l'ob\u00e9sit\u00e9 pr\u00e9sentent g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement les strat\u00e9gies et les approches particuli\u00e8res qui peuvent \u00eatre utilis\u00e9es pour chaque classe d'IMC, mais ne guident pas les professionnels de sant\u00e9 dans le choix du traitement appropri\u00e9 en fonction de la gravit\u00e9 clinique de la maladie. Ce cadre obsol\u00e8te pourrait favoriser l'inertie th\u00e9rapeutique, entra\u00eenant une progression potentielle de l'ob\u00e9sit\u00e9.<\/p>\n

Afin d'inspirer un changement dans la mani\u00e8re dont l'ob\u00e9sit\u00e9 est diagnostiqu\u00e9e et prise en charge par les cliniciens et comprise par les parties prenantes concern\u00e9es, l'EASO a r\u00e9dig\u00e9 ce commentaire, proposant un nouveau cadre pour le diagnostic, la stadification et la prise en charge de l'ob\u00e9sit\u00e9 chez les adultes. \u201c Nous pensons que ce travail, associ\u00e9 \u00e0 des initiatives similaires, peut contribuer \u00e0 orienter la prise en charge de l'ob\u00e9sit\u00e9 dans une direction plus conforme au concept de l'ob\u00e9sit\u00e9 en tant que maladie chronique \u201d, \u00e9crit l'auteur principal, Luca Busetto.<\/p>\n
