Q \u2013 F\u00e9licitations pour votre nomination au poste de pr\u00e9sident de l'EASO, Volkan. Comment vous sentez-vous ?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Merci beaucoup. C'est un grand honneur pour moi de devenir le nouveau pr\u00e9sident de l'EASO. En tant qu'endocrinologue ayant consacr\u00e9 sa carri\u00e8re \u00e0 l'am\u00e9lioration de la sant\u00e9 m\u00e9tabolique, c'est un privil\u00e8ge de diriger l'EASO pendant cette p\u00e9riode o\u00f9 l'ob\u00e9sit\u00e9 est un probl\u00e8me majeur en Europe. L'ob\u00e9sit\u00e9 est une maladie chronique, multifactorielle et r\u00e9cidivante, et je suis impatient de travailler avec l'ensemble de la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 et toutes nos parties prenantes afin d'am\u00e9liorer la prise en charge de l'ob\u00e9sit\u00e9 et de soutenir des strat\u00e9gies de pr\u00e9vention fond\u00e9es sur des donn\u00e9es probantes.<\/p>\n

Q- Vous avez une longue histoire avec l'EASO et avez vu la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e9voluer, tout comme l'\u00e9pid\u00e9mie d'ob\u00e9sit\u00e9. Quels ont \u00e9t\u00e9 les principaux facteurs contribuant \u00e0 l'ob\u00e9sit\u00e9 au cours des trois derni\u00e8res d\u00e9cennies ?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Oui, tout \u00e0 fait. Je travaille au sein de cette association depuis 13 ans, j'ai collabor\u00e9 avec 6 pr\u00e9sidents et particip\u00e9 \u00e0 plusieurs initiatives portant sur la pr\u00e9vention et la prise en charge de l'ob\u00e9sit\u00e9, la formation des professionnels de sant\u00e9 et des personnes ob\u00e8ses, et j'ai collabor\u00e9 avec de nombreux acteurs.<\/p>\n

L'EASO pr\u00f4ne une compr\u00e9hension nuanc\u00e9e de cette maladie chronique multifactorielle. Les facteurs environnementaux, notamment notre exposition croissante aux perturbateurs endocriniens, l'environnement ob\u00e9sog\u00e8ne dans lequel nous vivons tous, les in\u00e9galit\u00e9s dans l'acc\u00e8s \u00e0 une alimentation saine, la commercialisation inappropri\u00e9e d'aliments et de boissons malsains aupr\u00e8s des enfants, l'acc\u00e8s in\u00e9gal aux soins li\u00e9s \u00e0 l'ob\u00e9sit\u00e9, les modes de vie s\u00e9dentaires et les comportements jouent sans aucun doute un r\u00f4le.<\/p>\n

N\u00e9anmoins, nous ne pouvons ignorer les solides fondements biologiques de l'ob\u00e9sit\u00e9. La g\u00e9n\u00e9tique et les d\u00e9s\u00e9quilibres hormonaux influencent consid\u00e9rablement la pr\u00e9disposition d'un individu \u00e0 l'ob\u00e9sit\u00e9.<\/p>\n

Q- Vos propres int\u00e9r\u00eats de recherche portent sur la pr\u00e9vention de l'ob\u00e9sit\u00e9 et du diab\u00e8te de type 2. Pr\u00e9sentez-vous vos propres travaux de recherche cette ann\u00e9e ?<\/strong><\/p>\n

M\u00eame si je ne pr\u00e9senterai pas de nouvelles donn\u00e9es cette ann\u00e9e comme je l'ai fait lors des pr\u00e9c\u00e9dentes conf\u00e9rences ECO, mon objectif en tant que pr\u00e9sident est de faire \u00e9voluer le d\u00e9bat autour de la reconnaissance et de la prise en charge de l'ob\u00e9sit\u00e9 en tant que maladie chronique \u00e0 forte composante biologique. Le projet de recherche sur lequel je travaille actuellement porte sur l'ob\u00e9sit\u00e9, le microbiome intestinal et la nutrition personnalis\u00e9e .<\/p>\n

Q : Que ressent-on lorsqu'on prend la pr\u00e9sidence de l'EASO alors que nous organisons l'une de nos plus grandes r\u00e9unions ECO \u00e0 Venise ?<\/strong>

\nVenise est une ville magnifique. Je suis tr\u00e8s heureux de prendre la pr\u00e9sidence \u00e0 Venise, la ville natale de l'un de mes amis les plus chers, Luca Busetto, devant les enchanteurs lions ail\u00e9s. Commencer ma pr\u00e9sidence lors d'une conf\u00e9rence aussi prestigieuse est vraiment inspirant.<\/p>\n

Q : L'ann\u00e9e prochaine, ce sera Malaga. Aimeriez-vous nous voir revenir bient\u00f4t dans une ville turque ?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Tout \u00e0 fait. Dans la continuit\u00e9 des congr\u00e8s organis\u00e9s dans des villes magnifiques telles que Venise et Malaga, nous accueillerons ECO2026 \u00e0 Istanbul, ma ville natale et un fantastique pont entre les cultures. Notre tout nouveau centre de congr\u00e8s est enti\u00e8rement \u00e9quip\u00e9 pour accueillir un congr\u00e8s majeur tel qu'ECO et je pense que nous pourrions battre des records en termes de nombre de d\u00e9l\u00e9gu\u00e9s !<\/p>\n
