Prof. Yishai Levy is head of the Department Medicine D, Rambam Health Care Campus, and Associate Professor, Rappaport Faculty of Medicine, Technion, Haifa, Israel. He is the president of the Israeli Society for Research and Study of Obesity (ISRTO).
He graduated the Hadassah School of Medicine, Jerusalem, Israel. He did fellowships in lipid disorders and metabolism and in clinical nutrition in London UK and in New York, USA.
He investigates the effects of green tea polyphenols on metabolic, inflammatory and oxidative status in healthy elderly. Also, he has been studying the epidemiology and complications of metabolic syndrome in healthy middle age subjects in Northern Israel and in patients undergoing bariatric surgery. He has published more than 100 papers and teaches clinical nutrition and metabolism in the hospital and in the Faculty of medicine.
