Themistoklis Tzotzas is a specialist in Endocrinology graduated from the Medical School of Aristotelian University of Thessaloniki in 1982. He received a 2-years training in Internal Medicine and 4-years in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism in the department of Endocrinology and Metabolism ( Pr JL de Gennes) at Pitié-Salpêtrière Hospital in Paris between 1982 and 1988. He acquired very good experience in all spectrums of endocrine and metabolic disorders particularly in lipid disorders. He worked as medical scientific collaborator in “La Fondation de Recherche en Hormonologie” in Paris (1983-1987). In 1988 he was nominated specialist in Endocrinology and he became member of the medical association of French endocrinologists. During 1988, he worked as “Chef de Clinique” (Assistant Professor) in the same department at Pitié-Salpêtrière Hospital. In Greece he was the cofounder and scientific director of ‘The Medical Institute for the study and treatment of Obesity’, a private medical centre in Thessaloniki treating obesity on a multidisciplinary basis, from 1991 to 1996. From 11/1990 to 11/2013, he has been Consultant in Endocrinology in the department of Endocrinology-Diabetes-Metabolism in Panagia General Hospital in Thessaloniki and from 11/2013 to 05/2014 director in the department of Endocrinology in St. Paul General Hospital in Thessaloniki.
