Professor Claudio Maffeis is Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the University Medical School, Verona. He is director of the Pediatric Diabetes & Metabolic Disorders Operative Complex Unit of the Department of Life and Reproduction Sciences of the University of Verona and the director of the Regional Center for Pediatric Diabetes. His research areas focus extensively on childhood obesity and diabetes, in particular on the energy and macronutrient metabolism and the metabolic consequences of childhood obesity. He is author of more than 200 articles published in peer-reviewed Journals and book chapters and has received a number of national and international awards for his research.
