Obesity Policy in Europe: the need for Education, Treatment and Care
The EASO Policy Conference 2018 – “Obesity Policy in Europe: the need for Education, Treatment and Care” took place on Thursday 17th May at the Renaissance Hotel in Brussels. The event was held in conjunction with European Obesity Day (EOD) 2018 and followed-up to the very successful EASO policy conference held in May 2017.
The event was chaired by John Bowis, former UK Minister of Health and former MEP and MP.
Speakers included representatives from the EU institutions, OECD, EASO, EU Member State Permanent Representations, academia, healthcare professionals and representatives of EU disease and therapeutic associations.
The conference was attended by more than 100 EU and national policymakers, politicians, representatives from national representations and ministries, obesity specialists, healthcare professionals, and organisations representing the many diseases on which obesity impacts.
Several hundred more watched the livestream of the event.
