EASO NIU Summer School: Obesity – A Multi-Systemic Disease

The focus of this meeting will be on the development of knowledge and skills in the field of obesity research. Topics that will be covered include metabolic and cardiovascular risk in obesity, the role of adipose tissue dysfunction, brown adipose tissue, the gut microbiome, the effects of maternal obesity on fetal growth and metabolic risk, childhood obesity, appetite regulation, and obesity management (lifestyle, pharmacological and surgical interventions). The program is based on both lectures and practical trainings (e.g. anthropometric measurements, assessment of food intake), which will be provided by international experts in the field of obesity research. On completion of the course, participants will have a thorough grounding in multiple aspects of obesity research and will have developed certain skills to facilitate their research.

EASO is pleased to offer 30 places for this prestigious course. There is no registration fee and EASO will provide hotel accommodation and all meals for successful applicants.
